Last Saturday, April 15th, was the 16th stop of Volcom's Peanut Butter Rail Jam at Brighton. The masses came out including resident Gypsy, Trent Sanders who took 5th in the Open Division and secured an invite for the PBRJ Championships. Props.

Also, SRFC supporter Cameron Neilson, took 4th in 16 & Over division with not one, but three attempts at a BS Rodeo 5 to frontboard gapping the flat of the flat down box.

National Go Skateboarding Day Incidents

I'm sure a lot of you have heard about the Sandy Mayor closing down the Lone Peak Sandy Skatepark on the National Go Skateboarding Day. If you haven't check the story here. But an even more outrageous incident is in this clip from Hot Springs, Arkansas of Officer Joey Williams taking it to far when he chokes a 13 year old and then chokes a girl. Check it for yourself, if this angers you, you're not alone. Voice your opinion and let the Chief of Police know how you feel about this incident. Call them and write them with your complaints.

Now take a deep breath, the Finn’s have left the program along with long time Forum heavy hitter Devun Walsh. DC has also snagged young gun, Kimmy Fasani who came over from the Burton camp. In other heavy sponsor change news, recent TransWorld SNOWboarding cover dude, and DC rider, Aaron Biittner has left Technine to pursue other unnamed opportunities. After all the building, there have been some departures; Jacqui Berg has left the brand as well as—one more deep breath—Simon Chamberlain. You’re shocked we know, Simon has left to further his future with his clothing brand Nomis.

Nima Jalali just dropped in on a brand spanking new, 2007 Audi A4—paid in full, son. Nima also picked up a couple sponsors along the way, he’s running L1 outerwear, and leaving Spy, Nima’s rocking Hoven goggles as is the Lake Tahoe homey, Robbie Sell. Nim’s also claiming endorsements by Taco Bell, and Amstel Light. Word? Him, Justin Hebbel, Zack Marben and Jon Kooley are also headed to Quebec to shoot rails.

Bear Mountain filmer, Justin Meyer recently got engaged to his longtime GF, Amber Pinney. Council Meeting at Bountiful City Hall

Bountiful's Skatepark is on the agenda to be discussed

The newest proposed location for the Bountiful Park is going to be at Rocket Park. This isn't final and there is a public, preliminary discussion on this topic at the next city council meeting in Bountiful.

They are doubts about this location.

We need a park, and it if it passes, it WILL be designed by you!!!!

John Pitt, a representive of the city council, is for the idea and is backing the park but he can't do it alone. Anyone who skates or supports skating needs to be there. Although the meeting may or may not be open to public comment, but your appearance can prove to be greater than words...

Whether you skate or not, pass the word around and get everyone's attention, even rollerbladers, bikers, scooters, freestyle walkers. Just get the word out.
